Entrust acquired Onfido and is rebranding the product as Entrust Identity Verification. The underlying technology, API and dashboard are unchanged for now: eID Hub still uses provider: onfido, and you'll still see "Onfido" in the dashboard, the Onfido Studio workflow builder and some API field names. We use the new name in this documentation, but the integration itself hasn't changed.
Entrust Identity Verification checks a person's government-issued ID document and, optionally, compares it against their face using AI and human review. It supports document verification on its own, layered with a facial biometric check, or address verification from a separate document. In eID Hub, it's the provider onfido and supports authentication only, not signing.
