Testing
eID Hub's test environment is connected to each provider's own test or sandbox environment. This means you can run through the full transaction flow, from creating a transaction to receiving completion data, without affecting real users or incurring costs.
Test environment
The test environment base URL is https://testbed-eid.scrive.com. It behaves identically to production, but all provider connections point to their respective sandbox or test systems. Transactions created here never reach a real identity provider.
General approach
The testing model varies by provider. Some offer dedicated test apps or test user generators, others use fixed test credentials, and some return pre-determined responses regardless of input. The table below summarises what each provider offers and links to the full testing details.
| Provider | Test model | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Swedish BankID | Test app with generated test users | Install the test BankID app and create test identities |
| Finnish Trust Network (FTN) | Fixed test users per bank | Pre-configured test credentials for each bank |
| MitID | Test users on demand | Issued per request |
| Freja | Test mode in production app | Enable testing mode in the Freja eID app |
| Smart-ID | Demo accounts and automated test accounts | Use existing test accounts or register a personal one |
| Norwegian BankID | Generated test users with fixed credentials | Generate users; shared OTP and password |
| itsme | Test app and account | Access provided by Scrive on request |
| OneID | Sandbox bank with test users | Pre-configured test bank and credentials |
| iDIN | Preconfigured test bank | Single test bank that auto-completes |
| Mobile-ID | Fixed test numbers | Pre-configured test phone numbers |
| Entrust IDV (Onfido) | Sandbox with simulated results | Results controlled via applicant name; any sample image works |
| SMS OTP | Fixed code, no SMS sent | OTP is always 123456 |
